Your future duties and responsibilities
Working on a key Central Government project as an experienced Senior Ruby engineer youll join the Development, QA and DevOps teams. You will be writing long-standing, high quality and efficient code for high performance integrated software to help solve unique client problems. You should ideally be a collaborator with a proactive mind set, with a passion for working together in the team to achieve goals. These roles can be worked remotely in UK or hybrid working, but there will be a requirement to attend meetings from time to time on client sites in London (expensed travel).
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You’ll ideally be able to demonstrate;
A keen interest in and good demonstrable commercial experience/knowledge of Ruby
Creativity and enthusiasm for real-world problem solving
Demonstrable commercial experience
High standards of quality and meticulous levels of detail
DevOps -familiarity with Bash, Golang, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python
Good knowledge/experience in Node.JS, ReactJS-UI, Oracle-RDBMS and Open Source
An understanding, in some further software engineering skills (Git, unit testing, code management, continuous integration, caching, containerisation, clean code quality, code security and databases, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud service providers, design patterns, server-less techniques and micro-service architectures would also be beneficial.
