Engineering Draughtsperson M&E required in outskirts of Glasgow
Our client is a large Engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Glasgow. They predominately manufacture machine parts and components from ‘one off bespoke’ items to higher volume orders. You will report directly to the Sales Engineering Team Leader based on site and be an integral part of the engineering and design team.
Ideally you will come from an electrical/electronic or similar background and take initial concept/schematic drawings from the senior design lead in the business and take these drawings and bring them ‘to life’ via CAD / SOLIDWORKS design packages right through the manufacturing process, design calculations to commissioning and aftersales.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT?
> Prepare accurate and timely detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of components for purchase or manufacture.
> Prepare accurate and timely layout arrangement drawings of product designs to specific customer requirements.
> Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Material
> Be conversant with current good engineering practice for component manufacture and be able to incorporate accurately and effectively these into day-to-day tasks.
> Assist other departments within the company by providing technical information and or assistance when required.
> Assist in the maintenance of accurate, effective, and up to date drawing office procedures
> Report to the Sales Engineering Team Leader
WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM YOU?
> Experience in 2D & 3D CAD Design packages is essential e.g. (preferably Solidworks/ AutoCAD/ Inventor/ Pro E)
> Understanding of drawing standard BS8888 > Be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and Outlook
> Have good communication skills and be prepared to work within a dynamic and progressive team.
> Pro-active and positive work moral and attitude
> Have good time management and organisational skills whilst working on several projects.
