Embedded Systems Engineer required for my client located in Glasgow, Scotland.
The successful embedded systems engineer will join an every-growing team where they will work closely on the development of the company's key projects.
The successful engineer will be involved in the development and implementation of embedded systems for products, as well as, systems to improve the quality of care in the mental health sector.
Embedded Systems Engineer Position Overview
Working closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, to develop industry-leading products. This includes high-level product design input.
Lead the technical design decision related to embedded systems for products.
Specification, design, testing and improvement of embedded systems including the microcontroller and embedded Linux systems.
Where required work with external development partners where specialist technologies or resources are required
Provide support to the wider engineering teams for deployments and commissioning of IoT systems. Troubleshoot issues in the real world
Undertaking project work to develop new technology as required. Lead in the area and electronics.
Embedded Systems Engineer Position Requirements
A degree in an engineering, mechatronics or data science discipline is preferred (or equivalent experience).
Experienced embedded C developer with 3-5-year experience.
Experience with other languages such as Rust preferred.
Experience with Free RTOS systems including hardware/firmware integration.
Experience with embedded Linux systems.
Understanding of electronics, system design and troubleshooting.
A minimum of 3 years of industry experience is preferred, including practical experience of electrical/electronic systems, troubleshooting.
Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT) and systems such as IoT core is desired.
Commutable distance of Glasgow, Scotland.
Embedded Systems Engineer Position Remuneration
Salary – £50,000 to £55,000 – dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
Full time position – Monday to Friday.
20 days holiday package + plus the bank holidays. Annual leave increases with length of service.
Discretionary profit share.
