Jacobs Defence and Security provide design and engineering services for our nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice, and we are looking for electrical engineers with transferable skills who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges. We offer hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office. Occasional site visits may be necessary.
About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for EC&I Engineer’s with extensive experience in the nuclear and defence industry to join our Defence & Security business. This role will ideally be based in our Glasgow office, but can be based from our other locations throughout the UK. There will be a need for periodic visits to client sites as projects require.
The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston. Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia.
- You will support the EC&I Lead or Engineering Manager with delivery of the project works and be responsible for implementing Engineering Procedures and maintaining standards of technical quality.
- If you have experience in working in a highly regulated industry (Nuclear, Defence, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical etc.) preferred or possess suitable transferable skills, we want to hear from you.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Possess in depth knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline.
- Experience in HV generation/distribution systems and associated control and protection systems.
- Experience in HV/LV network design and analysis and using industry standard software tools.
- Ideally experience of working on Nuclear Safety Implicated systems.
- Experience in preparing technical reports and substantiation of electrical designs.
- Experience in using AutoCAD software.
