Job Description

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for a Bid Manager to work within the Opportunity Appraisal & Bid Management team. This is a key role for the future of SQA business development team and will support on the identification of commercial opportunities for the organisation.

The successful candidate will be required to manage complex bid opportunities, lead bid teams and coordinate activities and people to ensure that quality and timely proposals and contract documents are produced and submitted ensuring that appropriate governance is complied with.

. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:

Write contract winning bids that demonstrate the full capability and experience SQA has in delivery
Plan and coordinate activity involved in the end to end bid submission for new contract opportunities.
Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of current and future assessment products and services
Develop and manage the bid strategy in line with typical sales methodology

Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Demonstrate successful management of multiple projects
An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally
Experience using Capture Management approach is desirable.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF 9 (degree related qualification useful but not essential) and be able to demonstrate Bid Management or Business Development experience.

Also, role model the behaviours associated with SQA’s values (Trusted, Progressive and Enabling) in order to develop and sustain a productive and positive culture.
